Junior B Lg Rd 3 V Kilmaley

An entertaining game in the junior b league in Kilmaley last Sunday saw the homeside
came out on top with four points to spare as they hit two late quick fire goals to secure a win.
Kilmaley were first on the scoreboard with points from Emily Cahill and Caoimhe Carmody. The parish side replied with a well taken goal by Amy Lenihan, but Kilmaley tagged on 1-2 without reply mid way through the half. Lenihan and Chloe Neylon exchanged goals with Ciara Duggan (1f) & Caoimhe Carmody pointing in the closing minutes of the half. St. Joseph’s Amy Lenihan scored a point to close the gap to three as the half time scoreline read 2-5 to 2-2.
The parish opened the second half with points from Keira McGrath (2), and from here on in it was a goal feast. Kilmaley scored two within six minutes, with Laura Hayes, Ciara Duggan and the hard working Amy Lenihan scoring four more going into the final quarter of the game. Chloe Neylon (2), Ciara Duggan (1)and Lenihan(1) exchanged points once more to put St. Josephs two ahead with four minutes remaining, but Kilmaley’s Emily Cahill and Chloe Brown goaled in the final minutes to take the spoils.
Chloe Neylon, Caoimhe Carmody and Lana Browne had strong displays on the day, while Amy Lenihan, Chloe Towey and Meadhbh O’Connor got through trojan work for the parish side.
