U13A Championship: Rd 5

In severely poor conditions last Wednesday evening, the St. Joseph girls added their second win in this final U13A round in Kilmaley. Underfoot conditions in a very poor Kilmaley pitch didn’t deter these determined bunch of ladies and Katie Callaghan scored two points in concession without reply from Kilmaley in the first half. Pulling on the ground was out of the question in this pitch so girls had no alternative but to get the sliotar into their hands to keep the flow of the game and in the second half Shauna Moloney converted 3 points from frees as well as getting herself a nice goal, giving the Joseph girls a nice lead as they approached the final 10 minutes of the game.

With the rain beating down on top of them Emma Towey scored another point and Caoilfhonn Ní Chonaill scored a goal but not without a last ditch effort from the equally wet Kilmaley girls.  They managed two goals in the final minutes leaving the scoreline St. Jospeh’s 2-6, Kilmaley 2-0.
