ST Josephs Doora Barefield Senior Hurling 1st Round Champ
St Josephs 1-22 Tulla 3-13
The first round of the senior hurling championship was played in Sixmilebridge on Sunday May 14th.
St Josephs played with the wind in the first half and started well. The sides were level at the end of the first quarter but a goal from a penalty by Alan O Neill set St Josephs on their way. The second quarter saw St Josephs take over and a flurry of points left St Josephs ahead by 7 at half time.
The second half started well and after 10 mins we were 9 points ahead. Tulla then got a foothold and scored 2 quick goals plus a few points to go 1 ahead with 10 mins left.
However St Josephs showed great character to finish strongly and score the last 4 points to win on a scoreline of 1-22 to 3-13.
Best for St Josephs were Brian Clancy, Peter Collins, Aaron Landy, Kevin Dilleen, David Conroy Tom Hannon and Alan O Neill.
