U16 A Championship vs Liscannor

Doora Barefield travelled to the beautiful but cold and windy Liscannor on Monday evening last for their final group game of the U16A championship.

Doora Barefield were on the scoreboard with a goal in the first minute scored by Kiera McGrath. Liscannor registered their first score on 5 mins with a point from a free scored by Meg Brennan with their second score a goal scored by Aoife Nagle coming in the 21st minute. The visitors dominated the first half with all 6 forwards getting scores in the first half. Half time score Doora Barefied 4-5 Liscannor 1-1.

Amy Lenihan started the second half scoring 3 points in the first 7 minutes. Liscannor scored 3 goals in the second half coming in the 10th, 16th and 18th mins. Doora Barefield were again dominant in the seond half scoring a total of 9-4.

One of Doora Barefield’s players Aisling Hannon was a passenger on the bus which caught fire in Cork earlier in the day but it certainly did not take from her performance when she was introduced midway through the first half with a personal tally of 4 goals (1 penalty) for the evening.

Well done to Doora Barefield who topped their group with 4 out of 4 wins.

Final Score: Liscannor 4-1 Doora Barefield 13-9.
